Theatre – “Never Fight a Shark in Water”

“Prior to getting wrongfully convicted of murder, I was an average citizen who had no idea what went on in prison. My understanding came from TV. I was picked up off the street and given a front row view of the harsh reality. The human element is what fascinated me. Most people don’t get a chance to see that side of prison. Prison movies seem shallow compared to the real thing. This play demands attention on the subject matter.” — Gregory Bright

Music – “Sole Music Concert Series: A journey through an African American quilt of song”

My grandmother was a self-taught pianist who taught me hymns and songs that I heard while attending Sunday morning church service at a very young age. I remember during our sessions her leaving ‘teaching mode” and going to this place where, even now, I can only describe as ‘another world’. She was transported to the place where she was no longer singing the song – but rather, the song was singing her.

Books & Writings – “The Voice That Matters”

“The voice of Charles Holt brings to my mind these words of the great Sufi teacher.”, Hazrat Inayat Khan, “The voice is not only indicative of a man’s character, but it is the expression of his spirit. His voice will tell you how far he has evolved… the etheric quality of the voice is inspiring, healing, peace giving, harmonizing, convincing, appealing; at the same time it is most intoxicating.”
Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith
Founder and Spiritual Director, Agape International Spiritual Center
